John Deere Horicon Works Continues 30-Year Partnership With Green Valley Enterprises Through Equipment Donation

Donation continues a more than 30-year partnership supporting job training and meaningful employment for people with diverse abilities.

Furthering their longstanding support, John Deere Horicon Works recently donated a Z370R Electric Zero-Turn mower to GVE, a division of Opportunities, Incorporated. The mower is an investment in GVE facilities, maintenance, and ground care.

GVE assembles nearly 600,000 John Deere Home Maintenance Kits annually and manages over 120 components daily. The production line operations employ 10 individuals with diverse abilities each day, providing an opportunity to learn new vocational training skills while being a part of an inclusive work environment. Currently 58 kit variations are produced and shipped to John Deere distributors across the country.

GVE takes great pride in the John Deere collaboration. Partnership with Purpose events are hosted on-site each year between the two organizations to provide hands-on experience for John Deere staff and interns to work with GVE participants, not only on the production floor, but in adult day services programming.

John Deere has been a consistent supporter of GVE through fundraisers like the Ham N Jam event, this equipment donation, and providing volunteers. John Deere is always willing to consider creative ways to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

“John Deere Horicon Works is honored to be able to put a great piece of green and yellow equipment to work at GVE in Beaver Dam.  We hope it works just as hard as their dedicated team does for us every day.” Dave Will, John Deere Horicon Works Factory Manager.
