A-Team Adventure Series Holds Wild Game Bonanza
From Javelina to Wild Ram, A-Team Serves More Than 100 Guests at Wild Game Luncheon
FORT ATKINSON, Wis. — On May 27, 2026, the A-Team Adventure Series broke its attendance record, serving wild game from across five states to more than 100 members, advocates and friends at Opportunities, Inc. in Fort Atkinson, Wis. A-Team Adventure Leader Joel Kleefisch partnered with Ellie Lawton, an award-winning French chef, to serve a shredded seven-meat meal comprised of Antelope, Javelina, American Buffalo, Corsican Ram, Axis Deer, Wild Turkey and Wild Boar. The meat medley was shared with members of the KANDU Industries A-Team chapter who were also in attendance for the bonanza.
“Our KANDU group had a wonderful time at the A-Team Wild Game luncheon.” said Kathy Hansen, executive director at KANDU Industries. “It was a fun day filled with great food, laughter, friendship, and the opportunity to connect with others who share a passion for choice and self-advocacy. We are incredibly grateful to the A-Team for their leadership and continued support of 14(c), which remains an important tool in ensuring people with disabilities have access to meaningful work opportunities that fit their individual abilities and goals.”
The A-Team Adventure Series is an outdoor activity program that tailors nature-based experiences for people with diverse abilities while increasing visibility for their right to choose in employment, home and life. The program has hosted fishing outings, outdoor cooking classes, nature hikes, shooting sports, marsh tours, taxidermy workshops and other opportunities for participants to experience natural resources and conservation firsthand.
“I enjoy being a part of the A Team,” said Scott—a participant of KANDU Industries. “It gives me the opportunity to stand up for myself and others at KANDU so that we can keep working where we choose to work!”.
Smiles, laughs and second servings dominated the day as more than 60 pounds of wild game fed the hungry crowd. The A-Team adventure series has now set its sights on angling in the fall for their next nature excursion.
