Opportunities, Inc. Hosts 23rd Annual Spence Jensen Classic

KOSHKONONG — Opportunities, Incorporated Spence Jensen Classic golf outing celebrated 23 years on Thursday, June 5. Once again, Lyle Wuestenberg of J & L Tire arranged for Green Bay Packer legends, Lynn Dickey and Paul Coffman to join the organization for two events. They engaged with Opportunities, Inc. participants at the Fort Atkinson location to see our mission in action before joining golfers at Koshkonong Mounds Country Club and interacting with supporters in attendance.

Due to the longstanding positive experience for avid golfers, the course was full prior to registration closing.  “Every year we are humbled by the overwhelming support of our sponsors, golfers and local businesses,” said Jen Pinnow, Agency Project Coordinator.

The fundraiser raised over $50,000 this year, achieving a new goal over the previous year’s totals. The event realized an increase in sponsorships, with Platinum Sponsors Associated Bank, J&L Tire, Kikkoman, Maas Brothers Construction, Preferred Staffing and the Marty Simpson family.  There were also many Gold Sponsorships from Boucher of Menomonee Falls, Eaton Pet & Pasture, JM Brennan, Jones Dairy Farm, Nestle Purina Corporation, Rocky Rococo-Whitewater, T-Mobile, United Heartland, Waste Management, Willis Towers Watson and Wipfli, LLC. Compass Group USA. Griffin Ford-Fort Atkinson, In-Sys Solutions, M3 Insurance and Uline also contributed with Silver Sponsorships.

Over the past 23 years, the proceeds have continued to support the vocational training scholarship fund. The Opportunities, Inc. endowment ensures those who have difficulty with traditional funding have a pathway to services for advancing their work training and enrichment in life skills.

This year, donations from the golf outing will focus on vocational training, as this is an incredible challenge for individuals who want to advance in life. For the past several years, with costs rising, individuals with diverse abilities have experienced overwhelming obstacles to living a meaningful life. With limited transportation to and from their employment, and lack of skills, it is difficult to find and keep a job. With Opportunities, Inc. the overarching mission, and commitment of supporters; one job, one ride, at a time can and will make a difference!

Barb LeDuc, President and CEO of Opportunities, Inc. is committed to enhancing training, “It is the mission of our organization to ensure barriers are lifted to maximize independence and skill training is one of the most empowering actions to assure an individual’s success!”

Opportunities, Inc. values relationships with the community, if you are interested in business tours, education, or outreach to employ, enrich, and advance people with diverse abilities, please contact Jen Pinnow at jpinnow@oppinc.com, or calling 920.563.2437 ext. 4217 or visit our website www.oppinc.com for more information.
