Opportunities Host Project Lead

Opportunities, Inc. had the pleasure of hosting members of the Fort Atkinson Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, March 13th for their Project LEAD, a leadership program they do each year beginning in September to introduce members of the class to the amenities and opportunities they have for service and engagement in our community.

Members learned about the history of the organization from the VP of Strategic Development, Robin Kennedy and heard from both Barb LeDuc, CEO/President and Jason Frey, COO/Executive Vice President and their tenure with Opportunities, Inc. Of the experience, Barb Leduc states that, “It was an honor to share our mission with the Fort Atkinson Chamber, Project Lead program this past week. It was a privilege to showcase the opportunities abound for people of diverse abilities and backgrounds in our community with engaged leaders of local businesses, as our mission is focused on preparing our diverse workforce for the future!”

After separating into two groups, they received full tours of Opportunities, Inc. Stopping by Connections, the adult day program and learned about the enriching activities they get to do such as learning real life skills like washing and drying clothes, cooking and baking, and volunteering for the community. They visited the OiCloset, a program that is run by Connections Participants, where clothing donations are offered to participants and the surrounding community for interviews, work, or daily life. They also had the opportunity to tour each of the plants and learn about their fulfillment center, co-packaging, printing services, automation and robotics.

Afterwards, members of the chamber regrouped to work on Project LEAD, where they are partnering with the Jefferson County Cancer Coalition to start up a Jefferson County Cancer Walk. The walk will be held on Saturday, June 8th at Fort Atkinson High School. Jeff Scheuerell, Chief Experience Officer of FCCU and member of Project LEAD spoke highly of his time at Opportunities, Inc. “I wanted to thank all of the staff of Opportunities for the tour last week. After our tour, I could not help but feel an appreciation for what this company provides for our community. The sense of pride was overflowing in all the team members we heard from or simply received a wave or smile from. Opportunities, Inc. is a beacon of pride for its many team members as well as the community we live in.”
